Review: A Little Life

A Little Life A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was heavy. AND I don’t mean because it has 720 pages!

I’ve had this book on my bookshelves for many years. I do believe I bought this when it was first published. Always kept thinking I’d tackle it soon.
Never did. The sheer amount of pages was the only thing that put me off.

I’d also read some very brilliant reviews from many on here and other social media platforms.

I’ve watched a Book Tuber collapse in tears when explaining the contents of this book.

Still never got to it!

Then I came across a few Book Tubers who were going to portion the pages out and read over two weeks, they asked if anyone wanted to join in.

I thought....YES now is the time.

I expected it to cover a lot of of painful issues. And it did. I didn’t expect to get so involved with the characters the way I did and actually go and live with them!
I sniffed, tasted and devoured this story.

I don’t know what else to say that hadn’t been said already over the years except......don’t do what I did.
Don’t wait, just pick it up. Section off 50 pages at a time and begin.

This story broke my heart and will remain with me forever.
